Our organization, Vision Help International Care Foundation, operates orphanages in the Philippines that serve as more than just shelters. We aim to create places of security and love for disadvantaged children.
An Extended Family for Children in Need
We as Vision Help Foundation Philippines considers every member of our team is valued. This philosophy shapes everyday life in our Village of Hope and House of Hope, creating an atmosphere where children feel welcome and loved.
The House of Hope and Village of Hope
The foundation operates two main facilities:
- House of Hope: Provides a home for babies and toddlers up to four years old.
- Village of Hope: Designed for children aged five and above.
As of March 2025, we care for a total of 106 children in these two orphanages. While the large number of children sometimes creates a lively atmosphere, this very vibrancy is a sign that the children feel safe and secure.
A Place of Security and Love
For many of the children, our child-care centers are the first places in their lives where they experience genuine security and love. We place great importance on making each child feel part of a caring family. This is particularly vital for children who have suffered neglect or abuse.
Daily Structure and Activities
To provide stability and routine, we follow a structured daily schedule, which includes:
- Shared meals, which not only provide nutrition but also strengthen the sense of community.
- Age-appropriate educational programs, from early childhood development to academic support.
- Creative activities, such as painting, crafts, and music.
- Sports and physical activities, which promote both fitness and social interaction.
- Rest periods and individualized support.
This structure helps the children feel grounded and provides them with a sense of security in their new home.
Welcoming New Children
In the past six months, we welcomed new children into our “family.” These new arrivals are greeted with open arms and carefully integrated into our community. The admission of new children is always a reason for celebration, as it means another child has found safety and care.
Adapting the Infrastructure
With the growing number of children, we continuously adapt and expand our infrastructure. This includes:
- Expanding sleeping areas to provide each child with personal space.
- Developing communal spaces for play, learning, and shared activities.
- Improving sanitation facilities to ensure hygiene and health.
- Creating outdoor spaces for sports and play.
Challenges and Success Stories in Orphanages in the Philippines
Caring for children in orphanages presents many challenges but also countless moments of joy and triumph. We want to share some moving stories that highlight the importance of its work.
Audrey’s Story: From Abandoned Baby to a Loved Child
On January 18, we took in two-month-old Audrey. She was left at the social welfare office by a friend of her mother after the mother disappeared. With no birth certificate or known birthdate, Audrey found a new home in the House of Hope. Here, she is now growing up with many “siblings” and receiving the love and care every child deserves.
Raffy Jane’s Path to Healing
The story of four-year-old Raffy Jane highlights the harsh realities many children face in the Philippines. After her father’s death, she suffered severe abuse at the hands of her mother’s new partner. Thanks to the courageous intervention of her grandmother, Raffy Jane was rescued and found refuge at the Village of Hope. Here, our team is working not only to heal her physical wounds but also to help her overcome the trauma she endured.
Long-Term Care and Development
Our care for children extends beyond short-term needs. Instead, it is focused on providing long-term stability, development, and opportunities. This includes:
- Ongoing education to improve learning opportunities.
- Psychological support to help children process traumatic experiences.
- Life skills training to prepare children for independent living as adults.
- Career guidance and vocational training for older youths.
- Follow-up support for young adults who leave the facility.
A Vision for a Brighter Future
We at Vision Help Foundation sees its work as an ongoing mission to improve the lives of disadvantaged children. Every success story inspires the team to reach even more children in need.
Long-Term Goals and Challenges
The organization aims to continue expanding its capacity to care for more children, but faces several challenges:
- Securing funding to sustain and expand the facilities.
- Recruiting and training qualified staff.
- Adapting infrastructure to accommodate a growing number of children.
- Maintaining individualized care despite growth.
- Developing innovative programs to support children’s reintegration and independence.
- Collaborating with local authorities and other organizations to strengthen child protection systems.
The Importance of Support and Engagement
As a charity organization, Vision Help International Care Foundation relies on the support of donors and volunteers. Every contribution—whether financial, material, or time—helps provide more children with a loving home.
The foundation invites people to get involved in various ways:
- Sponsoring individual children.
- Donating essential goods for the orphanages.
- Volunteering, either on-site or remotely.
- Raising awareness on social media.
- Participating in fundraising events.
- Providing professional expertise in fields like education, health, and psychology.
The stories of Audrey and Raffy Jane demonstrate the profound impact of our organization’s work. They highlight the many children in the Philippines who desperately need help. We tirelessly strive to offer them not just shelter but a true home.
With every child that joins the House of Hope and Village of Hope, our “family” grows—along with hope for a brighter future for the youngest and most vulnerable members of society. We at Vision Help International Care Foundation prove that with dedication, love, and the right support, miracles are possible—one child’s smile at a time.
